Michael B Jordan has played his fair share of superheroes (and villains), from his role in Black Panther as the ultra-agile Erik Killmonger to Fantastic Four’s self-combusting Human Torch. Off-screen, however, Jordan is a mere mortal – and a mortal who needs help with telling the time by way of super-luxe wrist gear at that.

Attending the third annual MBJAM19 in Los Angeles, the Creed actor wore a bright and bold outfit, consisting of an acid-orange Coach silk jacket, Nike Air Max 270 Reacts and side-stripe, bumblebee-inspired trousers. And rather than opting for a watch in a similar sunshine shade, Jordan did the opposite and went for a classically minimalist Piaget timepiece.
The watch in question would induce serious envy in those who favour ivory walls, crisp (box-fresh only) white sneaks and follow accounts like Minimal Zine on Instagram. The Piaget Altiplano watch is a no-fuss, no-frills approach to telling the time.
The 40mm, 18-carat white-gold-fashioned case has been specifically designed to host the 1205P movement, which houses Piaget’s ultra-thin self-winding mechanics. Featuring art deco style indices in place of numerals, the Altiplano is essentially the Gene Kelly of watches: elegant, sophisticated and devilishly handsome.
What’s more, thanks to its super-chic design, the Piaget Altiplano will stand the test of time. To get your hands on something similar, we’ve handpicked our favourites...
